Organizing My Mom’s Beauty Shelf

Hello my friends! I visited my parents for a couple of days and in the midst of movie nights and wine tastings, I decided to organize my mother’s beauty shelf. It was such a spur of the moment decision that was mostly prompted by me wanting to try some of her products! Lol

From skincare to perfume, this lady has so many fun things that just don’t get used. As the saying goes, “out of sight, out of mind.” Well not anymore. I cleaned all of the products and wiped down each shelf. Then, I discarded all of the expired items. Getting rid of the two boxes of Latisse hurt my soul because I know they were expensive. But hey, they were expired and you have to protect your health.

After that, I searched for some storage containers she already had. I found two purple wire baskets, which I put the false lashes in, and an empty makeup remover container, which I put the perfume samples in. I headed to Target to check out their bathroom storage options and found some clear bins in different sizes. They were sold out of the 6 x 4 1/2 inch bins, which would have fit the shelves better, but I wanted to finish the project that day so I made it work with what was available. Maybe in the future, we will order another size. The total cost was about $42 for the seven bins

Have you been in an organization/home project mood lately? Let me know in the comments below.
