The Emerald Glam

Hello, The Emerald Glam readers! 

I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus from writing, getting adjusted to a new job. Yay! As my first post back on The Emerald Glam, I wanted to share some items I purchased on a family cruise this past fall. We went on a Royal Caribbean cruise through England, France and Spain, and though the moments spent together are the real gift, it’s nice to have a few items that remind you of the time spent on vacation! Keep reading below to see what I purchased.

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille

Mom and I were waiting around the main dining hall for our dinner seating when we decided to browse around the shops on the same floor. We stopped by a few stores and finally went into the cosmetics & fragrance shop when I spotted Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. This fragrance has been on my wishlist for a few years, so I decided to seize the moment and purchase. I consider this perfume a splurge, but it is so worth it! I love the rich, woody scent of tobacco mixed with the sweet, aromatic smell of vanilla and cocoa. I wear it in the evening, or fall/winter, or anytime I want to feel like taking on the day.

My grandparents, mom and I went to port in A Coruna, Spain and marveled at the beautiful architecture there. Stepping off the boat was a really nice experience. A Coruna is very clean, there were live musicians performing for tourists and the atmosphere was very serene. We walked into Regalarte by Laura Doldan and were very moved by her work. I purchased an original water color painting and my nana purchased a painted umbrella. Laura was really nice and we enjoyed meeting her and supporting her work!

Dress and Hat from Bohemia & Co

During our port stop in Bilbao, Spain, we took a taxi (only way into the city) and traversed into the shopping district. A store called Bohemia & Co caught my eye, so we stopped in and tried on a few clothes. This store is expertly curated for all generations. My nana, mother and I were all able to find items we loved and fit us very well. I purchased a green mini dress and rerversible green bucket hat. The ladies in the boutique were really sweet and helped us find clothes we love. I highly recommend this store.

14K Gold and Opal necklace from Effy

Finally, on one of the last days on the ship, mom and I were just walking around the ship and decided to go into the jewelry shops. I thought I was all shopped out, but apparently not. I asked for a gold necklace with a small circular stone that wasn’t a diamond and super super small. The sales assistants were helping me try on pieces left and right until the manager directed the sales assistant to one piece. It was perfect. I can see why he’s the manager! I am really happy with this piece and know it will last me a long time. You can purchase Effy jewelry anywhere and I really like how they set their jewelry. I would purchase from them again. So many pretty pieces! And it was exciting sipping champagne and ringing the bell once you decide to purchase the piece.
