When given a chance to explore a new fragrance, always say yes! At least, that’s my advice. The Le Labo fragrance house came to Savannah for a temporary visit, and it was a real treat to explore so many fragrances I’ve heard such high recommendations for.
My friend Kia heard about Le Labo on Wheels stopping by Savannah from April 2-May 3 at Forsyth Park and wondered if I’d like to come check it out. We don’t have a brick and mortar Le Labo in our city, so it was really neat to have a chance to explore the fragrances in a pop-up experience.

The shop had a barn-like wooden exterior, potted plants, an informational pamphlet designed like a newspaper and a few patio seats. The waiting line was out the door, filled with men and women. By overhearing some of the conversations while Kia and I waited, some were returning customers and some were new (like us)!
Once we got inside, the shop was designed like an old apothecary. Clear glass fragrance bottles with a minimalistic paper-like prescription label were lined up along deep brown wooden shelves next to paper testing strips. A variety of fragrances were also available on a wooden writing desk for sampling. Bath and body products were stocked on shelves on a subway tile-inspired wall and porcelain sink. Candles in glass cloches lay discreetly next to the black wooden checkout counter, overlooking the park-facing windows.

I’ve had some fragrances on my wishlist for a while. The Noir, being one of them thanks to a few video reviews on The Scented. I was also interested in trying some of the Santal fragrances to see if I changed my mind on this base not. Negative. I have not. I left the experience feeling impressed by The Noir 29 and Fleur D’Oranger 27.
Le Labo describes The Noir 29 as combining depth and freshness, softness and strength through permanent oscillation between the light of bergamot, fig, and bay leaves and the depth of cedarwood, vetiver, and musk.

Le Labo describes Fleur D’Oranger 27 as an orange blossom creation that took more than three years to compose. Its innate nobility is enhanced by fresh floral and lemony notes, rounded out by musk and the succulent, sunny touches of bergamot, petit grain, and lemon.
