December 2022 Favorites

December came and went so fast. Not only was it a busy month for work, it was also a really fun month for traveling! I went to the Miss America pageant in Connecticut and traveled back home to see my family and friends for Christmas. These trips gave me the perfect opportunity to try new beauty and lifestyle items! Keep reading below to find out what I loved.

New Lip Combo

I audited all of the lip products in my makeup collection, which included some MAC lipsticks from a few years ago (LOL – I know they may be expired, but I’m still using the ones that have pigment and sheen). Well, one of these lipsticks was in the color Mocha. It’s usually too light for everyday wear, so I decided to pair it with a darker lip liner. I purchased a NYX lip liner in the color Mauve and the two paired really well together! I was so excited for this new combo, but tragically, my lipstick fell out of my tote bag when walking into work only two days after I created this combo, and when I came back outside, someone had driven over the lipstick 😦

I’m happy to have discovered the match and if you’re looking for a nude lip combo, give that one a try.

Press On Nails

My nana gifted me a set of imPRESS press on nails over the Thanksgiving holiday and I had not had a chance to try them until the first week of December. I love them. I was very skeptical about how long they would last, but they lasted all week. I only had a problem with one nail that fell off twice, but I swiped nail polish remover over that nail and placed a replacement nail on there. It didn’t fall off again.

Caramel Brûlée Latte

During the winter months, I usually order the Chestnut Praline Latte from Starbucks, which I definitely did as I was traveling back and forth this month. But one day, my dad and I were picking up Starbucks for my mom and she asked us to get her the Caramel Brûlée Latte with soy milk. I decided to try that but with almond milk. It was delicious! Very sweet, but I liked that. I would say the Caramel Brûlée Latte is a little sweeter than the Chestnut Praline Latte.

Pink Luggage Set

If you’re following me on Instagram @theemeraldglam then you would have seen my reel unboxing my new luggage set. My old luggage set lasted six years but finally broke, so I was in the market for a new one. I wanted to get the Beis carry-on in Atlas Pink, but I waited too long and it sold out. I signed up for the waiting list but decided to see if there were any similar ones at a more affordable price. I found this set on Amazon where I could get four pieces of luggage for cheaper than the Beis carry-on. I figured it was worth a try. I was really impressed with the color and variety of sizes. I will say that since it is a cheaper set, you get what you pay for. I took the 24-inch set to Connecticut and after the round trip flight, the case was covered in scuffs and had a dent in the top corner. So I will try to see if I can clean it and get the dent out, but for comparison, my mother has a more expensive set and she had a minor dent and just a few minor scuffs.

What have you been loving this month?
