Anyone who knows me will tell you that I love food. My camera roll is filled with so many food shots that my iPhone curated an album just for those pictures. I was browsing my Pinterest recipe board for inspiration and decided to make the Chicken and Avocado Tacos with Creamy Cilantro Sauce from GimmeDelicious.com. I took some liberties with the recipe- making my chicken in a crockpot, using no avocados and attempting to create the homemade sauce in a mortar & pestle before placing them in the blender. Overall, I loved the recipe! There’s something about a homemade sauce compared to jarred sauces; there’s just no comparison. I love the cilantro and sour cream-based mixture. And then I topped it off with a green pepper hot sauce I bought a few weeks ago. The flavor combo was delicious!

I cooked the chicken breasts in a crockpot on high for 4 1/2 hours, then shredded them with two forks.

All the ingredients for the sauce: salt, pepper, garlic cloves, fresh cilantro, sour cream and lime juice (not pictured). I tried to make the sauce in a mortar & pestle, but it was a fail. Lol I ended up using the blender, as recommended by the recipe.

Pour the mixture into a blender.

The sauce turned out really well! I wish it made more, so next time I might double the recipe!

Voila!
