What I bought in Mexico City

I visited a friend living in Mexico City a few weeks ago and am still inspired by the many cultural experiences I had there. From the canopy-covered roads, historic architecture, welcoming shop owners and more, Mexico City is filled with love. During my time there, I browsed many shops and bazaars. Here’s what I brought home.

Sleeveless Blouse

I bought this green sleeveless blouse from Tacto. I really like the cutouts and backless design of this top. The designer was really kind.

Amethyst and Quartz Ring

I picked up this amethyst and quartz gradient ring from Vondy Mexico. The band is gold plated over sterling silver. I love seeing the unique gradient color change in the stone.

Linen Top, Skirt and Pants

My friend and I were about to leave Bazaar Resiliente and right before the exit, we spotted Madreselva on the left. We stopped by the vendor and spent the most time trying on clothes here. We loved the designs! The sales assistant spent so much time and care helping us try on different options to flatter our different body shapes. The customer service was phenomenal. I bought a light oatmeal-colored sleeveless top with its matching skirt and pants. I love a matching set for summer and now I can wear the pants or skirt, depending on my mood.

Ear Cuffs

I’ve been on the hunt for ear cuffs but haven’t quite found the right designs. My friend told me that she’s been visiting a few bazaars over the weeks and there was one spot I had to check out. She did not disappoint with her recommendation. We went to the next bazaar down the street and met Isaias, the designer at Afrodita Jewelry. He had the most positive energy and a welcoming presence. He told me the story of how he designs each piece by hand and styled me with different pieces until I found the ones I liked! I selected a three-layer cuff, a solitaire cz stud cuff, and a larger statement piece.

I also visited the Deltum Jewelry booth and picked up a dainty ear cuff with a chain and small star stud earring. The owners of this shop were also very kind.

Sunglasses

We hit a bazaar a few blocks down and I spotted this pair of brown sunglasses. I normally gravitate towards aviator style sunglasses, so I tried this pair on because it reminded me of a shape my brother would wear. I was surprised because I like how they fit my face. It was flattering so I purchased them. I cannot remember the shop owner’s name but this is your sign to get out your comfort zone and try on something new.

Bumblebee Brooch

This was a gift from my bestie! She picked it up at one of the booths at a bazaar. I love how the different shades of brown and bronze play with the polished pearls in the design.

If you’re ever in Mexico City, stop by the bazaars! You’re sure to find some great pieces for everyday wear and special occasions.
