Recent Beauty Treatments I Tried for Summer 2023

There is nothing like a pamper day. A day to go get beauty treatments and just relax. Most of the time, I do my beauty treatments and regular maintenance at home, so it is such a luxury to go out and have professional services. Keep reading below to see what new treatments are out for hair and nails.

Hair

I haven’t had a trim since November 2022, so it was time to get rid of my dead ends. I went to my hairstylist Nikki at The Realm hair studio and she started me out with a spa mist deep conditioning treatment. She uses a fine mist of microscopic water particles to allow the hydrating shampoo and conditioner to penetrate the hair more thoroughly.

Next, she did a peppermint scalp scrub, which was a new treatment to me! It smelled so nice and the scrub was perfect for getting a deep clean throughout my scalp. It didn’t feel too abrasive or rough, it was just right.

After that, we did a trim, blow dry and flat iron. My hair has grown a lot over the last months, but this left me with some thin pieces of hair at the end. It blends in nicely when I wear my hair straight, but now that it’s summer, I wear my hair curly more often. The trim helped my hair look more full and healthy. And it also allows me to style my curly hair better since the hair looks more full. I still have heat damaged ends in the front – but I recently tried a new hairstyle and believe I’ve found a hack for that! I might do a post on that later.

All in all, I absolutely loved my hair after the treatments. And the blowout looked amazing.

Nails

Next, I made an appointment to try polygel nails, which I’ve never tried before. I’ve had regular polish, gel polish, acrylics and press-ons, but never polygel. I went to INK Nail Bar and was very happy with the service.

I washed and dried my hands, then Nicky began working on the cuticles and structuring the nail with polygel, which is basically a stronger, longer-lasting gel polish. Next, I cured the nails under UV lights. She inspected them then gave me a pink sugar scrub cube to exfoliate my hands under warm water. TBH this was my favorite part! It’s just so relaxing and pretty.

Then, I sat back in the chair and she starting doing the nail design. I opted for French tips on a nude colored nail and she hand painted the tip in a small, square yet curved design. It was so pretty and elegant. I cured under the UV lights again and then I was ready to go.

The polish requires a fill-in every 3-4 weeks. And then after the third service, you will need to book a removal and start with a new set.

Final Thoughts

One thing I will say is if you book appointments on the same day, build in at least 30 minutes between appointments based on location of the two properties. Overall, I am so happy with the treatments and look forward to trying even more professional beauty treatments in the future. Have you thought about trying any new services lately?
